Yesterday I stumbled across this post on a website usually reserved for gossip, missing cats, and complaints.
What touched me was the journey the jacket made from wearer, to thrift shop, to another. And all the time, the face of this man in his youth, quietly hidden away.
How fragile these objects are, how easily the photograph could have been lost. But the new owner of a jacket searched the pockets, and took the time to post onto a website. Another scrolls, catches sight, pauses and reaches out. What are the chances! And now that tiny photograph finds its way home to be placed in an album or frame.
I wonder what memories are released, what stories are told.
Sometimes an object can travel far before finding its place in the world of things lost and found.

How wonderful. A little fragment made its way home
After I put a load my mother’s book to the collection bins at a bookstore near me, I couldn’t help but take a photo of them. Why?
